Jon Nystedt

Guitar

Jon Nystedt has been playing guitar for forty years.  His major influences are the British blues guitar slingers such as Eric Clapton, Peter Green, John Mayall, Jimmy Page and others.  Jon lived and played in several San Francisco area bands where he continually honed his craft.  He moved to southern Oregon in 2013.  He eventually discovered the Ashland Blues Society in 2014 and started attending the monthly jams at Talent’s Little Brown Jug.  Along the way, he met Nancy McIntosh along with the other band members and subsequently was invited to become a member of the newly formed Nancy Mac band.

Stefano Carrera

Drums/VOX

Stefano Carrera is a versatile drummer and percussionist who started playing at age 10...he played in high school and then later for the California based Anaheim Kingsmen and Velvet Knights US drum & bugle corps, and college jazz bands, community bands, symphony bands, as well as for various funk/brass/ rock/pop bands from New Jersey to Europe & the Caribbean.  For over 20 years, Stefano provided top level government security & served honorably in the military. He moved to Oregon in 2009, and since 2012 has played venues from the Expo to the Ashland Armory in a variety of bands in the Southern Oregon region, including the Rogue Big Band & DejaNeaux.  Stefano is a great addition to the band and brings his unique brand of rhythm to the bands’ blues rock set lists.

Nancy McIntosh

Lead VOX/Keys

Nancy’s love for music comes naturally.  As the daughter of former music teacher and well-known Northwestern musician, Frederick Reynold “Renny” Foster, Nancy grew up in a house always filled with music.  Her dad used to let her tag along to rehearsals when he was the Assistant Conductor and Lead Sax man at Harrah’s South Shore Room in Lake Tahoe from 1963 to 1967.  There she met stars like Sammy Davis Jr., Wayne Newton, Liza Minelli, Donald O’Conner, and Jack Benny.  This put the bug in her to perform.  After high school Nancy spent some time acting and singing at North Bend, Oregon's “Little Theater on the Bay” in productions such as Cabaret, and Jesus Christ Superstar. In 1986, she discovered she had a passion for the blues and she formed her own band, Next Exit.  The band had a solid Idaho reputation and played frequently at festivals and events up until her relocation back to Coos Bay in December of 2007.  Nancy was an active board member for the Boise Blues Society for over ten years and is now a lifetime member. In July of 2015, Nancy moved to Phoenix, OR and formed her new band, the Nancy Mac Band.  She, as well as the other band members, is an active member of the Ashland Blues Society.

Bruce Dunn

Harmonica/VOX

Initially, as a teen/young adult, Bruce Dunn was a classically-trained French horn player. After a long break, he returned to music and decided to learn the harmonica.  After developing his chops, and while living in Twin Falls, Idaho, Bruce first joined the Delta 88 Revival Blues band and was a member for four years.  Notably, the Delta’s played at the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics, opening for Quiet Riot.  Next, he was a member of another Twin Falls band called the Swamp Cats.  After a year, Bruce moved to Boise where he joined Nancy’s Idaho band, Next Exit.  Then Bruce moved to Ashland, OR and started attending various jam sessions.  Highlights include some gigs with Phil Guy and Jimmy Lloyd Rea & the Switchmasters. Bruce recently joined the Nancy Mac Band.

Bill Fischer

Bass/VOX

Bill Fischer started playing guitar at age 12 (1963), progressing from the Ventures to 60’s rock in high school garage bands.  He followed band mate/best friend to the Univ. of Tenn. in Knoxville as a music Theory & Composition major (1969) and started playing bass in a band with his friend, who played guitar and trombone.  After 2 years he went to Berklee in Boston as a guitar player majoring in Theory & Composition. While living and working in New Jersey he played a lot of R&B and rock. After a break from music, he started playing bass again around 2000 in response to a classified ad. That band was a 70’s and 80’s rock quartet. Later in 2007, Bill went to an organizational meeting of what later became the Ashland Blues Society.
